Summer Adventures

As we come to the end of the summer, I wanted to update you on some things that are happening in and around the studio!

First, I have some big shows coming up! I will be partnering with Akron ceramicist Grant Ederer on our duo show "A Fair Trade" where we have traded pieces, and hopefully traded some influence on each other's practice. The show will open on November 6th, and the Closing Celebration with be later in January.

I was able to go work in the textile production studio at Berea College in Kentucky to complete some of the work for the show. I had a great time using some of the larger production looms that have 'digital dobby' heads which enabled me to switch out weaving designs on the fly. It was a great week in a fun studio that also houses woodworking, quilting and broom craft. I also got to take some amazing hikes up to the pinnacles. Berea is a fun place to visit if you want an "off the grid" adventure.

I have been working hard in the studio all summer on the pieces for this show and some others. Take a look at some in-process shots!

Thanks again for reading and looking! My studio will be open each "First Friday" in downtown Canton. Each month I do weaving demos, and show/tell about all the projects going on in the studio.
