September First Friday show at 2nd April, Main Street Modern Market

September marks the end of my summer vacation and the official beginning of school. I am back to teaching my 7th and 8th grade students, and they are all excited to make some art. I still have a couple more fun art events before I can fully commit to the classroom, though.

"Show Your Work", my curated show of fibers and textiles will open this Friday at the new Second April Studios in downtown Canton, Ohio. I have wanted to curate a fiber show at this space since I first visited in 2008. Second April (and it's other named iterations) have always been a staple in the Canton art scene. As a young artist, I was inspired by this place and I hope other young artists will be inspired by this show. This collection of fiber works is connected by all the participants that choose to serve the community in some way through their work. Included in this show are Educators, Care Workers, and Community leaders, all who have made art a parallel passion in their lives.

I hope you can join us on Friday from 5-9 PM at Second April Studios to see the show and meet some of the artists! The show will remain up until the end of the month.

I will also be vending at Main Street Modern's "Vintage Pop Up Market" this Saturday! I will have everything that is usually in my studio for sale, and other vintage items and furniture. Stop by and take a look at my booth and the many other vendors who will be there, including my previous collaborator Grant Ederer, and Ted Maringer from the show at Second April!

I hope to see you at one of these events, or at a future First Friday open studio!
