New Studio Space!

I have officially moved out of my old studio space and into the new spot. It's been almost 4 years since I moved into the small room in my building. I saw a picture earlier this week where I used to have all my stuff in the 10x14' space. I dyed yarn wove and displayed the work all in that little room. I eventually painted the space different colors and "installed" more lights to make it easier to see.

Studio views; When I moved in, The small loom, A "contactless" First Friday opening, one of the first Big Waffle pieces I made, working on the big loom, and a large 15' panel for a commission.
Believe it or not, it was difficult for me to move away from that room. I think because I moved in during the 'quarantine' this space has become like an art cocoon, keeping me insulated from the rest of the world behind my closed door. In reality, the new space is bigger, has more light, and picture rails to hang my work. the previous tenant re-finished the hardwood flooring, and I hired another artist to paint the walls. It looks so good that I don't want to use it and get yarn all over the floor! Hopefully it will be a good change, and the room will let me be more free with my art practice. I definitely feel more comfortable having clients and guests come through the space.

The new room is at the same address; 318 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton! Floors by Rob Volzer, Walls by Untitled Paint Co.
I hope that everyone local will join me in "opening" the studio next Friday, April 5th from 5-9pm! Canton's "First Friday" event each month features shows at local galleries and fun activities for patrons.
Stay tuned for new work in the new space!
