March

Welcome back to another newsletter! The weather is (sort of) warming up, and the spring is making me feel more energized and creative. I have been working on a bunch of new things, and I am excited to share them with you.

First off, I have weavings on display at the BOX gallery at Summit Artspace in Akron, OH. This show is a collection of previous works in this new space. I am really happy to have this show just as Summit Artspace is re-opening after their construction and updates. The show is on view now until April 11th, and the Art Walk is this Thursday, March 12 from 5-9 pm. I will be there on the Third floor, and all the new shows will be open for you to view. There are lots of interesting pieces all throughout the building, so I hope to see you there!

Another exciting announcement, is that I am this year's "Emerging Artist" award recipient! Each year the "Arts Alive" awards celebrate excellence in arts and art leadership in Northeast Ohio, and this year I was chosen. I am very honored to have my name included with many of my friends and peers in the community. Thanks for nominating me, and hopefully this will be a pathway to some new opportunites!

Finally, I am working a new series of smaller pieces inspired by the early spring/winter sunrise. I am using wool from Ohio sheep and paper that I made at the Morgan Conservatory create these pieces. I'm sure you will see some pictures in the next update!

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a great start to your spring!
