March

After an interesting start to the year, I am taking some time to reflect and figure out what comes next. I am still working on a balance my different jobs, activities and studio time. I am patiently waiting for my spring break week off from school so I can make a plan for a new group of pieces. I also made a goal to start seeing art in person more often. I too often rely on the internet and social media to show me what new art is out there, and I forget to look in my own community. I went on a visit last week to the McDonough Museum on YSU campus to see some amazing shows. I love how the curators there work to make sure the disparate parts fit together for a good overall experience.

Artworks from recent shows at the McDonough Museum of art (YSU campus) L-R; Abby Cipar, Anna Chapman, Sidney Mullis, Will Hutnick.
This month may be busy with school, but I also have some art happenings around town. First, I have my "First Friday" open studio this week. Stop by from 5-8pm at 318 Cleveland Ave NW (2F) and see what I have in my studio!

I was also invited to do some live weaving demonstrations at the Arts in Stark "The Art of Community" Kickoff on Wednesday, March 12 at the Canton Cultural Center at 4PM.

Hope to see you at events around town! Thanks for reading!
