Just saying Hi
Welcome!
If you are just joining me, I’m an artist and art teacher from Canton Ohio. I went to KSU to learn more about pedagogy and ended up getting a new hobby that turned into an art practice. I love weaving and creating textile art, but my favorite part of the whole process is the act of dyeing the yarn in different colors and using resists to create patterns.

Even though I have been weaving for a long time (10 years?) I still find new things to try and do each time I set out to create a project. I am at a point now where I know that I will never have time to create all the ideas in my head, so I have to pick and choose what I follow through with.
Being a full time teacher does have its benefits, as I can afford my studio rent and supplies, but I don’t feel like I will ever have enough time to create. Working with my students has given me a greater respect for having my own practice outside of school that is something for myself and not in service of someone else. That feeling has lead me to really try to create time in my schedule for my own art, because I know it helps me to be more balanced and effective in my job.
I hope that you will enjoy reading about my practice, or at least enjoy seeing the pictures I post in each update to get a better idea of what I really do in my weaving practice.
Thanks for reading!
